Gym, pool and vacation with lash extensions
Yes, you can sweat, swim and travel with extensions. Here is how to do it without losing your set.
One of the best parts of extensions is that you can live your life in them. You just need a few habits to keep them in good shape.
Working out
Give the adhesive the first day to fully set. After that, go for it. Sweat is salty and oily, so rinse your lashes with clean water after a hard workout and brush them out. Avoid wiping your eyes hard with a towel. Pat instead.
Swimming
Pools and the ocean are fine once your lashes are past the first day. Chlorine and salt can dry things out, so rinse with fresh water after you swim and let them air dry. Goggles that press on your lashes are not your friend, so look for a pair with room around the eyes.
Sun and sunscreen
Many sunscreens are oily. Keep them away from your lash line and use a mineral stick around the eyes instead of a greasy lotion.
Travel
Book a fill a few days before you leave so you head out with a full set. Pack a spoolie, a small lash safe cleanser and a silk pillowcase if you have one. Skip the steam room on your first day.
Hot yoga and saunas
Lots of heat and steam can soften the bond over time. You do not have to give them up, just rinse and brush your lashes afterward and expect your fills to matter a little more.
